How our filters work
Uzima Water Filters utilize Hollow Fiber Membrane (HFM) technology, chosen for its ease of use, low cost, and durability. Each HFM water filter contains a bundle of hollow fibers designed to allow water molecules to pass through the filter while anything larger than 0.1 microns (bacteria, cysts, protozoa, etc.) is filtered out.
Hollow Fiber Membrane (HFM) Technology
As water enters the filter, it surrounds the membrane. Clean water molecules are able to pass through the membrane, while biological contaminates are unable to pass.
Filter maintenance is easy
Most Uzima products are cleaned by back flushing clean water through the filter using the included filter cleaner. (For the UZ-XL, a similar back flushing procedure is utilized, but uses a valve configuration and existing water flow to achieve the same results.)
